Recent weddings

The last couple of weeks have been very busy and I have not managed to upload any recent weddings to the blog. At a recent wedding a guest commented how nice it must be to work just one day a week on a Saturday. If only that was true! Each wedding takes a lot of time behind the scenes. Firstly I edit all the files and then open each file for colour corrections . I do any minor retouching work required at this stage as well. I then make a complete back up set from each wedding before resizing photographs to upload to the "view your wedding" section of my website. Next I create a DVD slide show of the photographs ready for when the couple return from honeymoon and create contact sheets from all the photographs. Then I spend many hours designing albums before sending them to be custom made in New Zealand. Every photograph for the album is then opened, enhanced, sized for the album and printed ready to be assembled in the album when it arrives. Each wedding takes me about 40 hours in total. I'm a full time wedding photographer and with 45 to 50 weddings a year I'm certainly kept busy.

On the 5th May I photographed Rachael & Ben's wedding at Kilworth House Hotel and on the 12th May I photographed Carole & Damian's wedding at Norwood Park. Below are a few photographs from these weddings.

Nice work. I know what you mean. I have friends who tell me they wish they could be in my shoes running around with my camera. I wish that is all there was to it. No one realizes the prep time and the editing time after the shooting. I wish I didn't need to learn how to market myself better and do the business side...that I could just spend my days making images. I quit teaching two years ago very idealistic when I walked into this profession...not so idealistic today......but I still love what I do and as long as I can pay my bills I will do it.
